Boston St Nicholas C of E Primary School
Year 4 Chestnut
This term has been an exciting one for Chestnut tree with lots of exciting events, including our story telling week and even eating cheese burgers!

We have focused on writing description in our writing and have used fairy tales as our focus point in aid to write our own. From this work we have created our own animations in ICT work, using our art skills and knowledge to create models.

Next term

This term we will start our new topic of stories from other cultures. During this topic we will be focusing on how these differ from our stories and using these as a focus in our writing and topic.

During numeracy lessons we will be continuing to develop our knowledge of number and the four operations.

For science, we will be learning about electiricty, how to keep safe and how circuits are made. Children will explore how to plan their own investigations.

In I.c.t. the children will be using knowledge developed in science to create diagrams and use simulations.

In our maths work this term the chilren have worked extremely hard on advancing their knowledge of number and place value. We have used a hands on technique to learn more about symmetry and shape.
